Caution
Angioedema and serious breathing problems with opioids; Schedule V with misuse potential.

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Swelling of hands or feet
  • Weight gain
  • Blurred vision

Key interactions

  • Avoid alcohol and other sedatives
  • Opioids increase sedation risk
  • Adds drowsiness with other CNS depressants
  • Caution with ACE inhibitors (swelling)

Counseling points

  • Do not drive until you know its effect
  • Do not stop suddenly
  • Report mood changes or suicidal thoughts
  • May be taken with or without food
  • Report swelling or trouble breathing
