Boxed warning

Tardive dyskinesia, which may be irreversible; avoid treatment longer than 12 weeks.

Caution
Contraindicated with GI obstruction, pheochromocytoma, or seizure disorder; depression and neuroleptic malignant syndrome.

  • Diarrhea

  • Additive sedation with CNS depressants
  • Antipsychotics add movement-disorder risk
