- Hypoglycemia; duration beyond 24 hours means missed-dose handling differs from other basal insulins.
- Storage
- Unopened vials and pens in the refrigerator (36 to 46 °F), never frozen; in use at room temperature for 56 days.
- Pregnancy
- Limited human pregnancy data; insulin as a class is preferred in pregnancy, but degludec is not the usual first choice.
