Increased mortality in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis.

Caution
Tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and QT prolongation (especially IV).

  • Muscle stiffness and tremor
  • Restlessness (akathisia)
  • Tardive dyskinesia
  • QT prolongation

  • Additive QT risk with other QT-prolonging drugs
  • Additive sedation with CNS depressants

  • Report involuntary movements of the face, tongue, or limbs
  • Rise slowly to reduce dizziness
  • Do not stop abruptly
