- Caution
- High potassium can cause fatal arrhythmias; concentrated injection must be diluted and never given IV push (ISMP high-alert as a concentrated electrolyte).
- Storage
- Oral tablets and packets at room temperature, protected from moisture; concentrated injection vials are stored away from other injectables and are not kept on patient care units.
