Dr. Lee phones the pharmacy to call in a new prescription for oxycodone, a Schedule II opioid, for a patient's chronic back pain. It is not an emergency. The pharmacy explains what it needs, a valid electronic prescription arrives later that day, and it is filled. A month later the patient returns and asks to have that prescription refilled, and the pharmacy notices its oxycodone stock is low and needs to reorder from the wholesaler.
